The Standing Huia, 2018, gouache on paper. A study of one of the skins at Okains Bay Museum. Although they are quite badly stuffed, like a sock of rocks, they have a strange fascination about them nevertheless.
Golden Heart, 2018, Gouache on Paper. Done after a shot in a garden documentary which depicted a waterfall outside Tivoli, which displayed the brutalist blocks of flats someone has flung up beside it. They are the epitome of the traditional blot on the landscape, and yet they have a strange beauty - not at all unlike a temple or something similar. This is very bucolic, but within the kilometre is pure suburbia.
